LeadsApp
vs Podium
Podium is a serious platform for local businesses that live on the phone and in text threads — auto dealers, home services, retail. LeadsApp answers the written inquiries a professional-service firm gets. Different buyer, different channel, and a very different way of buying: theirs starts with a sales call, ours starts with a free account.
Local businesses — auto dealerships, home services, aesthetics, retail — that want one platform for reviews, texting, phones, payments and marketing, with an AI Employee layered across it. If your customers text you, call you, and walk in, and you're ready for a sales process and a platform price, it's one of the category's big names.
Small professional-service firms — agencies, consultants, law firms, realtors, coaches — whose leads arrive as a contact-form fill or an email. It answers in under 60 seconds in your voice, qualifies and scores every lead, books the serious ones, and follows up on day 1, 3 and 7 — with you approving every draft by default, at a public flat price.
A text-first platform for Main Street, or an email worker for professionals
Almost every row below traces back to who each product serves. Podium grew up on review-collection and business texting for local storefronts, and its AI Employee now works calls, texts and webchat around that world. A law firm's or consultancy's new business doesn't arrive that way — it arrives in writing. Published benchmarks put the median first response to a new inquiry at 42 hours, with 63% of companies taking longer than an hour, while sub-five-minute responders convert roughly nine times better. Both products exist to close that gap — on different doors.

| Podium | LeadsApp | |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | An all-in-one platform for local businesses — reviews, texting, phones, payments, marketing — now pitched as "The #1 converting AI Employee for local businesses" and an "AI operating system".[1][3] | One employee for one job: answering, qualifying, booking and following up on your inbound email and web-form leads. |
| Who it's built for | Its industry pages: auto dealerships, home services, aesthetics & wellness, retail. Businesses whose day runs on phone calls, texts and walk-ins.[2][3] | Small professional-service firms — agencies, consultants, law firms, realtors, coaches — whose leads arrive in writing. |
| Channels | Broad, text-first: "calls, text, webchat, email, social" worked from one inbox. Email is one of five channels.[2] | Inbound email and web-form inquiries only — the one channel, worked all the way to booked. |
| Platform price | $399/mo Core, $599/mo Pro, Signature by custom quote — with their own caveat that “pricing plans may vary based on industry, partnerships, integrations, volume, and carrier fees”, and HVAC businesses told to contact sales for applicable pricing.[1] | $0 up to 25 leads a month, then $149 / $299 / $499 per month by lead volume. The same public price for every business. |
| What the AI costs | The AI Employee is an add-on to any plan — "Add on AI Employee to any plan. Get a demo" — and its price is not published on the pages we read.[1][2] | Nothing on top. The AI is the product, and the plan price includes it. |
| How you buy it | Through their sales team. Every call-to-action on the pages we read is "Talk to Sales", "Get a demo" or "Watch a demo" — we found no self-serve signup and no free trial.[1][2][3] | Self-serve. Create an account, connect a form or forward your inbox, and it's working on your leads in minutes. No demo, no call, no card. |
| Usage fees and add-ons | Real fine print: a $5/mo 10DLC fee per US location, additional phone numbers $5/mo each, bulk messages capped at 250 (Core) or 500 (Pro) credits a month, phone seats $30/user/mo, and a $500 per-location network optimization fee on the phones product.[1] | None. No per-message credits, no per-location fees, no seats — the plan covers the work. |
| Contract terms | Not stated on the pages we read — no month-to-month or annual-billing language appears on the rendered pricing page.[1] | Month-to-month, cancel from your dashboard. |
| You approve messages before they go out | Not the model. The AI Employee "responds instantly, 24/7" and books "no human handoff required"; your control is coaching it after the fact through their AI Studio.[2] | The default on every account. Every draft waits in your review queue with the lead's score and reasoning; auto-send is opt-in later. |

A note on reading their pricing
Two things to know before you compare. First, Podium's prices only appear when the page's scripts run — fetch it without a browser and you'll see “talk to our sales team” and no numbers, which is why some roundups claim Podium has no public pricing. It does: $399 and $599 a month were on the rendered page the day we read it. Second, those numbers are the start of the conversation, not the end — their own page says plans “may vary based on industry, partnerships, integrations, volume, and carrier fees”, the AI Employee is a demo-priced add-on, and the usage fees in the table above sit on top. Ask their sales team for the all-in monthly figure for your business — that's the number to compare against a flat price.
Buy Podium if…
- You run an auto dealership, home-services company, med spa or shop — their named industries, not ours.
- Your customers text you and call you, and you want reviews, payments and marketing in the same platform.
- You want an AI answering the phone — we never pick up a call.
- You're comfortable buying through a demo and a sales conversation, and the platform budget fits.
Buy LeadsApp if…
- Your leads arrive as a contact-form fill or an email, and they're sitting unanswered today.
- You're a professional-service firm — the buyer Podium's industry pages aren't written for.
- You want to read and approve what goes out in your name before it sends.
- You want a public flat price with no per-location fees, message credits or seat charges.
- You want to try it on your own real leads for $0, today, without talking to anyone.
What LeadsApp does not do
Worth knowing before you switch anything off. If one of these is the job you need done, buy the product that does it.
- No phone answering. We never pick up a call — not a live agent, not an AI voice. If your phone rings and nobody answers, LeadsApp does not help with that.
- No SMS or text messages. Email and web-form inquiries only.
- No cold outreach, ever. LeadsApp replies to people who contacted you first. It will not email a purchased list, and we don't sell one.
- No live humans on your account. Every reply is written by AI and, by default, waits for you to approve it.
- No calendar management. We put your booking link in front of the serious leads — we don't read your availability, move appointments, or run your diary.
- No review collection, payments, or text marketing. Podium bundles a storefront's whole front office; LeadsApp does one job for firms whose front door is an inbox.
